Special Bulletin:

I. An Overview of the Vedic Dharma: Dr Harish Chandra was invited by an Islamic Research body of Kolkata, India to speak on the Vedic Dharma on 29th March 2009. Initially, the understanding was that 'some open-minded Muslims wanted to know about the Vedic teachings.' Later it was told that another Muslim scholar will speak on Islam. But it turned out that the Muslim scholar, on his turn after Dr Harish Chandra, began to speak on Hinduism and even referred to the Vedas. Dr Harish Chandra chose not to answer his distorted comments on the Vedas because the audience was predominantly Muslim and it wasn't clear how they would be controlled had Islam been criticized. Overall, the entire exercise was in poor taste for him. However, the host body has now uploaded his talk on Youtube and the corresponding links appear below. His talk represents the basics of the Vedic Dharma in a concise form and may be of interest to the readers of Vedoday2050:

II. Two-Year Study Program on Veda-Yoga: We are pleased to write about a new initiative from 'Om Shantidhama' - www.omshantidhama.in - in the form of a 2-year study program on Veda-Yoga through English as a medium of instruction. The first batch has started functioning from Monday September 6, 2010. Attached is its invitation for prospective students. Dr Harish Chandra has been closely involved with this initiative. He is currently teaching the course related to Vedic Philosophy & Concepts. You can help in many ways:
1. in student recruitment from all over the world
2. encouraging young people benefit from it - young people from foreign countries may consider devoting one year to gain an in-depth understanding of the Vedic culture

Now people from Islamic

Now people from Islamic community are misusing these videos. They are displaying the videos in the manner as they have gained the victory over an Arya Samaji scholar. These claims can been seen in the comments sections of some articles on agniveer.com . Perhaps it is their reaction on the debate between Pandit Mahandra Pal Arya and Abdullah Tariq, which had been posted an year ago under the title "Arya Samaj Vs. Islam". For future, either Arya scholars should not go to such places, or they should show the courage to speak the truth. Please don't forget that we are the followers of Swami Dayanand, who criticized Islam even at the house of a Muslim. One of my friends, has provided the collection of these comments of Muslims on agniveer website in his blog space: http://hindurevolution.blogspot.com/2011/04/hate-of-indian-muslim-to-hindus.html . Please don't get me wrong. I am not raising the finger on scholarship or dedication of Harish Chandra ji. But this cannot be counted as an excuse - "Dr Harish Chandra chose not to answer his distorted comments on the Vedas because the audience was predominantly Muslim and it wasn't clear how they would be controlled had Islam been criticized." If this is the reason, then Muslims also can claim about the debate between Pt. Mahendra and Tariq "Abdullah Tariq chose not to answer his distorted comments on the Quran because the audience was predominantly Arya Samaji and it wasn't clear how they would be controlled had Arya Samaj been criticized." as the debate took place in an Arya Samaj Mandir.

Whatever I said in my last

Whatever I said in my last comment is not a condemnation, but it is just a pain inside my heart. Up to 3-4 years ago, I was active in several discussions in Arya Samaj forums like aryasamajonline yahoo group etc. These days, I am only active in some facebook discussions or a little bit on agniveer.com due to a lot of busyness. I am posting the message again after a long time, because I could not hide my pain. I hope that the scholars in this forum will understand it and will not take it otherwise.

Thanks a lot jvb ji. I would like to add that if Arya Samaj will not choose to answer the distortions about Vedas then who else will do it? If the other side fulfills its commitment and talks about Islam only, then it can be ignored. But, if someone spreads untruth publicly in the name of Vedas and we have the knowledge about the reality, then there should be no compromise.

On 21 January 2006, non-Arya Samaji scholar, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji was stuck in similar Islamic "chakravyuh", in a so-called interfaith dialogue with Zakir Naik. After that, a lot of allegations were witnessed on internet from the side of us Arya Samajis by saying that it was a debate between a "pauranik" and a "Muslim". Now, if we shall do the same, then we have no right to say anything against anyone.
