Most Authentic Biography of Swami Dayananda Saraswati

Dr JTF Jordens English books on Swami Dayananda Saraswati published by Oxford are very famous and widely quoted by many authors and writers who are not directly connected with Arya Samaj. These books of Dr JTF Jordens were not up to the satisfaction of Aryasamaji scholars and critics, but unfortunately during last many decades authentic biography of Swamiji in English has not been written by any learned Aryasamaji author. Dr Bhawanilal Bhartiya's Hindi book - "Navajaganana ke purodha: Dayananda Saraswati" published in 1983 is an excellent comprehensive biography, but after about 25 years it needs thorough revision and updating. If this Hindi book is revised carefully under author's (Dr Bharatiya's - age 85) guidance and then accurately translated in English by some powerful translator it can be a great success for Arya Samaj.

IT IS A GREAT HISTORICAL

IT IS A GREAT HISTORICAL BIOGRAPHY, BUT THINGS AND EVENTS ARE NOT CHRONOLOGICALLY AND SYSTEMATICALLY PRESENTED. PANDIT LEKHRAMJI WAS ASSASSINATED AND HIS PROJECT WAS LEFT INCOMPLETE. LATER ON PANDIT ATMARAM AMRITASARI USED THAT MATTER AND GAVE SHAPE OF A BOOK. IT WAS INITIALLY PUBLISHED IN URDU AND AFTER MANY DECADES IT WAS TRANSLATED AND PUBLISHED IN HINDI. IT IS A VALUABLE SOURCE INDEED. IT IS AVAILABLE AT ARSHA SAHITYA PRACHAR TRUST - DELHI.

The biography, you have mentioned - is it published with Pandit Atmaram Amritsari as the author or Pandit Lekh Ram as the author ? And who is the publisher ?

It is published with Pt

It is published with Pt Lekhramji's name as its author. It was exclusively based on the material collected by him. It is lastly published by:

Aarsha Sahitya Prachar Trust, 455 Khari Bavli- Delhi-6. (Ph no. 23958360 / 23953112)

It is edited by Dr Bharatiyaji.

I have its old version (first Hindi edition)- not the latest one of Aarsha Sahitya, edited by Dr Bharatiyaji.

धन्यवाद इस जानकारी के लिये |अभी तक मुझे स्वामी सत्यानन्द जी द्वारा लिखित श्रीमद्दयानन्द प्रकाश के अधिक प्रचारित होने के कारण उसी की प्रतिया खरीद कर बाटने का अवसर मिला था | अब मै पहिले स्वयम् इस जीवनी को पढूङा और तब बाटने की सोचूगा |
